Calico is a roughout leather – designed to be used for the flesh (suede) side of the hide. The suede has a nice uniform nap, with the grain side also a having a beautiful look and color; both an incredible feel.
Second-run leathers; may have defects ranging from: dye-lot/color variation, brands, holes, loose break, tannery swatch cuts, etc. Many times, we have also created our own color names for these hides. These should not be referenced to identify any leathers not sold here at Maverick.
