Description
Black Drum Dyed Harness shares the same stuffing and conditioning techniques as the Old World Harness with the option of a pre-dyed color – the hides are dip dyed first, milled dyed second, to ensure even and proper color distribution.
Hermann Oak® Leather’s Drum Dyed Harness – heavyweight vegetable tanned hides that boast a beautiful black hue and a feel reminiscent of the finest vintage harness leathers – giving your projects a touch of old-world elegance. Using only top-grade, heavy U.S. steer hides, along with the finest natural tree bark in their tanning process, creating leather with exceptional richness and texture. The hides are precisely tanned to achieve a firm, strong, and dense fiber structure. Drum-stuffed with heavy tallow, resulting in exceptional weather resistance, thickness, ease of cutting, and long-lasting durability. “Traditional Harness just like your Grandfather used.”
C Grade – Rein Selection: large, long sides with visible defects present. Ideal for heavy belts, tack, leashes, collars and more. Sides in the 4/5oz thickness are great for bags, upholstery, wallets, small goods, and accessories.
Founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1881 by Lewis Charles Hermann, Hermann Oak® Leather Co. has been producing top-quality vegetable-tanned leather for generations – using the traditional pit tanning method since its inception, making them one of the few remaining tanneries in the world still employing this technique. Their commitment to this time-honored process, without cutting corners, is essential to the superior quality of their vegetable-tanned leather, making it worth the extra time, effort, and cost.
