Description
English Tan Dublin is tanned using Horween’s 100 year old “Cordovan Veg Tan” liquor formula. Essex leather sides are infused with a wax blend and ironed under a hot roller to create Dublin – a full bodied leather with a rugged appeal. The wax finish creates a beautiful pull-up effect on the leather when bent or handled. Limited stock – second run. Made in the USA.
These are second run hides which means some hides may have issues ranging from a color defect/variation to brands, holes, scarring, loose break, drawn grain, tannery swatch cuts, etc. Many times, we have also created our own color names for these hides, and these should not be referenced to identify any leathers not sold here at Maverick.

This leather is absolutely beautiful, I cuts and skives like butter and Im very happy with my order. This has made some amazing small knife sheathes, wallets, card holders, and a notebook cover that made me double take. Maverick all the way for me.

Many thanks Mathew, we appreciate you taking the time to give us your opinion!

Really Low yield. Per square foot I would have spent less buying a non seconds hide. Foot prints on the hide. I found only 2 sections on a 24 sqft hide where I could get a decent 12 x 6 inch square mostly free of scars, heavily blemish spill like marks, or odd discolorations to the finish. Disappointing.

We are very sorry that these sides are not what you were expecting. The Dublin leather has a wax finish applied to the grain and tends to have a distressed look with varying light and dark tones showing through. Thank you for taking our phone call and allowing us to explain how Dublin can have these varying tones – especially with lighter aniline dyed colors like English Tan and Natural. We hope the replacement sides we sent out got your job done. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our team when these type of issues arise, as we are always here to help with returns or replacement hides. Thank you.
