Essex Scotch Grain – Black
Heavyweight Black Essex embossed with a Scotch Grain print. Essex is a full grain leather tanned with Horween’s time-tested Shell Cordovan veg tanning liquors. The hides are then nourished with a blend of grease, fats & oils to give the leather a soft, yet durable, well rounded feel. Typically made in earth tone and natural veg tan colors. Just like many of Horween’s leathers, it works great for just about any leather working project from bags to shoes to wallets
These are second run hides, which means some hides may have issues ranging from a color defect/variation to brands, holes, scarring, loose break, drawn grain, tannery swatch cuts, etc. Many times, we have also created our own color names for these hides, and these should not be referenced to identify any leathers not sold here at Maverick.
