Chromepak – Brown w/print

A beautiful classic brown colored Chromepak leather embossed with a pebble grain. Aniline dyed and hot stuffed for a high contrast pull-up effect.

Chromepak is one of Horween’s toughest tannages. Full chrome tanned, heavily hot stuffed with oils and waxes to weatherproof and condition the hides. Great for boots, moccasins, bags, tack and other heavy duty goods. This leather can last a lifetime, or two. Chromepak can accumulate a heavy layer of bloom on it’s surface, as the hides go through climate changes the hot stuffed extractables can create a hazy film on the leather. This can be burnished or brushed back into the leather – applying some light heat will also dissipate the bloom.   

Second run hides, some may have defects ranging from: incorrect color, holes, loose break, tannery swatch cuts, etc. Many times, we have also created our own color names for these hides. These should not be referenced to identify any leathers not sold here at Maverick.
