Essex Type – Italian Roast

Essex is a full grain leather tanned with Horween’s time-tested Shell Cordovan veg tanning liquors. The hides are then nourished with a blend of grease, fats & oils to give the leather a soft, yet durable, well rounded feel. Typically made in earth tone and natural veg tan colors. Just like many of Horween’s leathers, it works great for just about any leather working project from bags to shoes to wallets.

We will refer to miscellaneous Horween leathers as a “type” when we are not 100% sure of the exact tannage. But feel it is closest to that type/tannage of leather. Many times, we have created our own color names. New leathers are constantly being developed at the tannery, and we have no way of identifying the leather exactly. We do the best we can to identify type, color etc.
