Derby – Chestnut

The Essex, Dublin and Derby are tanned using Horween’s 100-year-old Cordovan veg tan liquor formula.  The Derby leather is the most rustic of the three, boasting a highly distressed and rustic look due to the tumbling it undergoes during the tanning process.  Derby sides have a rich pull up and are expected to age beautifully as they patina.

These are second run hides which means some hides may have issues ranging from a color defect/variation to brands, holes, scarring, loose break, drawn grain, tannery swatch cuts, etc. Many times, we have also created our own color names for these hides, and these should not be referenced to identify any leathers not sold here at Maverick.
