The Essex, Dublin and Derby are tanned using Horween’s 100 year old Cordovan veg tan liquor formula. Dublin is a bit more rugged looking than the Essex leather it starts off as. The hides are infused with wax and then heat plated which enhances the grain, creates a pull-up effect and adds a bit more rigidity than the leather. Just like many of Horween’s leathers, it works great for just about any leather project. Limited Stock. Made in USA.
Maverick Leather sells “seconds” of Horween Leather. Second run hides from Horween can have issues ranging from a color defect to brands, holes, scarring, loose break, drawn grain, tannery swatch cuts, etc.
