These are second run hides which means some hides may have issues ranging from a color defect/variation to brands, holes, scarring, loose break, drawn grain, tannery swatch cuts, etc. While still considered seconds, these hides have been high sorted and have minimal defects.
Cowboy is a full grain, vegetable-tanned, leather that is drum-dyed and greased with tallow. It has a smooth surface and uniform color on the grain side and will produce a beautiful pull up effect when handled. These sides are an A/B selection with minimal defects. The Essex, Dublin and Derby are tanned using Horween’s 100 year old Cordovan veg tan liquor formula. Dublin is a bit more rugged looking than the Essex leather it starts off as.
